When You Need a New Water Heater Installation

  • New construction or a major renovation: the system has to be sized, placed, vented and connected to code from the start.
  • A home addition, in-law suite or ADU: a second water heater can be a better option than running long hot-water lines from the main unit.
  • Moving the water heater: for example, out of a cramped closet and into the garage or attic, or the other way around.
  • Changing fuel type: gas to electric or electric to gas. Going to electric needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit. Going to gas needs a gas line and proper venting.
  • A house that has outgrown its hot water: a growing family, a new soaking tub, or more bathrooms can mean you need more capacity.

Water Heater Options We Install

Tank (Storage) Water Heaters

A 40–50 gallon tank is standard in most Charleston homes. Tank units cost less up front, don’t need electrical or gas upgrades when the home is already set up for them, and typically last 8–12 years with regular maintenance.

Tankless (On-Demand) Water Heaters

Tankless units heat water only when you use it, so they don’t run out. They last 15–20 years and take up much less space. Learn more on our tankless water heater page.

Gas vs. Electric

We install both. The right choice depends on what’s already run to the location, your electrical panel’s capacity, and how much hot water your household uses. We’ll explain the trade-offs in plain language before you decide.

Our Installation Process

  1. Assessment: we look at the location, fuel source, venting, drainage and how much hot water you use, then size the unit to fit.
  2. Written estimate: you get a clear written price before we start.
  3. Permit: we pull the permit for your installation.
  4. Code-compliant installation: we set the unit and make the water, gas or electrical connections, including any required expansion tank, temperature and pressure relief valve discharge, drain pan and venting.
  5. Testing and walkthrough: we check for leaks, set the temperature, show you the shutoff valves and explain basic maintenance.
  6. Clean up: we leave the space the way we found it.

These guys are amazing! I called due to a clogged drain and they came out the next day. They even stayed until late evening to ensure the problem was resolved that day. All the technicians were friendly and communicated upon arrival. One of the owners even called to follow up from the visit. I have already recommended them to several people and will continue to highly recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services.

So I posted a 5⭐️ review a month or so ago. I had all of my pipes re-done and some fixtures replaced by these wonderful people. Here we are a month later and somehow I have managed to loosen my kitchen sink. I txt them at noon, embarrassed I might add, to need help with something so frivolous. By 2 pm Austin showed up to my house to tighten it, all the while assuring me it was his pleasure and wouldn’t accept a dime from me, as it was a part of my warranty. I will forever suggest these guys to everyone I know and am so grateful they are who I chose when there are so many options out there🥰
